Police Continue To Investigate Death Of Lithuanian National

The police are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of 40-year-old Gintaras Lokcikas, a national of the Republic of Lithuania.

His lifeless body was discovered along the shoreline of Mamora Bay shortly after 7 a.m. on Friday, 16 May. Mr. Lokcikas arrived in Antigua on Thursday, 8 May, and was staying at the St. James Club. He was scheduled to depart the island on Thursday, 15 May.

Arrangements are currently underway for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

The police have been in contact with relevant local and international authorities, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and representatives from the Lithuanian government to keep the informed of the investigation.

The Police Administration expresses sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Lokcikas during this difficult time.

    • Usually they have heart attacks and die. I’m sure no foul play suspected. But in Antigua on never knows

  2. He had to leave on the 15th but was discovered dead on the 16th. I hope the man was not murdered. That would explain why he wasn’t on his departure flight

  4. Coming to the island on vacation and dying is not something that anyone should want to happen. I see it too often in the Caribbean. RIP sir
