VIDEO STORY: Food Security | Community Matters

The tiny island-nation of Antigua and Barbuda is no stranger to vulnerability. Whether it be tropical cyclones, drought, or the other circumstances typical of a developing nation, the country has been through its fair share of trials. Contextually speaking, the fact that we continue to endure is quite impressive. Though, one potential weakness of the island – Food Security – might be a bigger looming threat than we think, especially considering global trends.

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda seems to be taking this issue of Food Security seriously, putting a variety of initiatives into operation. However, an underlying vice – underrated but incredibly potent – always stands ready to derail a society, regardless of its efforts and good intentions.

Can any society, especially a developing one, sustain manifold success without a keen, developed sense of community? This is the topic we aimed to examine in this video.
