Darien Isaac has been found guilty of drug trafficking following a judge-only trial before Justice Ann-Marie Smith.

The conviction stems from a 2020 incident when law enforcement officers discovered 40 and a quarter pounds of cannabis at Deep Water Harbour. Isaac was subsequently charged in connection with the seizure.

The contraband, with an estimated street value of EC $536,500, was discovered during a counter-narcotics operation. According to officers from the Police Narcotics and K-9 Departments and Customs, the cannabis was concealed inside a shipment of household appliances that had arrived from Canada.

Isaac will return to court on July 3 for sentencing.

  5. Now that a start has been made, the authorities should focus their attention in earnest on Ali Baba and the forty thieves who have been destroying Antigua and Antiguans for decades, with impunity while making themselves millionaires.
No! It was NOT by selling toys, gifts and hardware, cloth, thread, zips and buttons, small appliances, stoves and fridges, cars, buses, car parts, electronics, tyres and unhealthy fast foods that Ali Baba and his forty thieves at the expense of local family and cultural norms…. And we keep wondering, like wandering sheep, where are all these guns and ammo coming from? Who keeps importing Marijuana and dangerous drugs through our post offices and airports? Who continues to sponsor via employment the worse of the worst from our Caribbean neighbors down south and up north. Continue to turn a blind eye Antiguans and Barbudans. In very short order, your new masters will be officially installed.!!!!
