VIDEO STORY: Not All Cops Are Dirty | A Call for Understanding in Law Enforcement

In recent years, the dialogue surrounding law enforcement has become increasingly polarized, often painting all officers with the same brush.

However, it’s essential to recognize that not all cops are dirty; many are dedicated individuals who strive to serve and protect their communities with
integrity.

    • I think this is very disturbing but the good policeman and women that are the a good apples why not tell on the bad apples they are seeing the wrong they’re doing and where they’re going out of order and they say nothing they need to expose them in order to keep all the good apples in they need to get rid of the bad apples because yes it’s true they are good police good ones that give good Justice what about those that don’t 90% of the police force they are bad so what happened when the people that is out there under pressure and being hurt and abused drag to the ground slam to the floor chucking up when they get opportunity as soon as they hear it’s enforcement police or in some position close to the police they take revenge so end up Peter pays for Paul but they have to realize if they don’t stand up they’ll let the bad apples which is the policeman that do all the wicked things know that it has to stop or they will expose them the good ones needs to tell the bad ones it is wrong so sometimes honestly I feel bad for them but Peter pays for Paul

    • Great piece! Kudos to Mrs SBC. The integrity of the Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda, is at an all time low. (can’t even say Royal Police force now). Most of the younger male officers especially, are very arrogant and lack good manners. The young ladies nowadays, are cutting ✂️ their skirts (uniform) and looking as though they’re going to a night club and, what’s more disgusting…the authorities see and know. Hard working officers who have many committed years of service are deliberately overlooked for promotion thus, creating a stressful atmosphere for the older guys. The police service commission in Antigua is the worst in the Caribbean. They’re promotion their friends and family and political pundits, some who can’t even read a simple script properly and can’t formulate a cover note. Nothing is going to change under this present administration. The police force us a good career for young people but, it seems like kisses and other things are the norm for promotion.

      • You sound like you are a police officer. But what about us officers who place our needs after the needs of convicts? We sometimes give them food and a change of clothes when they are in the holding cell awaiting their charges to be brought against them. Many times people resist arrest and expects officers to treat them like babies. They blatantly disrespect officers. People’s hatred towards police cloud their judgement.

  3. My problem is that the law refuses to take action against the few officers who abuse their power. We know not every cop is dirty antigua.news. but when the commissioner refuses to publish those officers who perform outside the norm as you said, how can we have faith in anyone of them? Are the officers who killed Manny who was unharmed and running away from them still on the job? Getting paid? If so then we don’t want to hear about good cops. These matters tain the entire force. We cannot have faith in a system who continuously protect dirty cops.

The other out here roaming the streets react depends on exactly they are dealing with. Let’s not be bias. Police are dirty! And these young cops they are bringing in don’t make sense, they join for power not to serve and protect

  7. This really soften me. I always had issues with the police. One time an officer slapped my nephew over a simple matter and I hated them because of this. But truly. We need the police and one incident shouldn’t have clouded my judgement. Thanks Antigua.news.
