On Friday night, the People’s Place at the ABLP Headquarters on Nugent Avenue buzzed with excitement as scores of Dominican nationals gathered to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Dominica Labour Party (DLP).
The event, chaired by Ambassador Emmanuel Nathan, President of the DLP, underscored the strengthening relationship between the Labour parties of Antigua and Dominica.
Among the attendees were several DLP Members of Parliament who delivered impassioned remarks emphasizing the importance of unification and progress among all Dominicans.
Key figures included Cozier Fredrick, Minister of Environment; Getta Roberts, Minister of Governance; Cassani Laville, Minister of Health; and Irvin McIntyre, Minister of Finance.
Each speaker highlighted the need for solidarity, especially during these challenging times.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne, leader of the ABLP, took the opportunity to reflect on his longstanding relationship with Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit of Dominica, emphasizing a story woven with shared connections and resources.
Browne encouraged Dominicans to remain steadfast in their support for the DLP amidst global challenges such as the ongoing wars in Ukraine and Palestine. He cautioned attendees against opposition members seeking to undermine their country for political gain, urging them, “Stick to what you know.”
birds of a feather united for ever
Unity is power. Power is unity. I love it
Ofc. Would Gaston do any better? They both are doing the same thing! He send down Antiguans to vote and skerrit send up Dominicans to vote! Let’s not act surprised by his statement
YES! There’s power in Unity! Labour forever all over!! Gaston is talking facts
Solidarity forever!
Hmmmm so if it not good shouldn’t we take a chance and hope for better? Just asking
Gaston is a far better leader than Skerrit. He should spend a week in ANtigua to see the movement, the development, the improvement.
