The Antigua Trades and Labour Union (AT&LU) has successfully finalized negotiations with the Central Housing and Planning Authority (CHAPA), resulting in a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

The agreement will benefit around 40 employees, including CHAPA’s Line Staff and field agents.

The signing ceremony took place on June 10, 2025, at the Authority’s Head Office.

According to the union’s press release, the CBA is effective from January 1, 2025, to December 31, 2027, and introduces various new benefits for employees.

These include personal days, a mental health benefit, an incentive for heavy-duty operators working on steep inclines, and an 8% salary increase.
Daniel characterized the negotiations as ‘very cordial,’ despite some challenging moments.

AT&LU’s General Secretary, Alrick Daniel, is confident that the new CBA offers conditions that are mutually advantageous for all parties involved.
