Earlier this week, members of the UPP took to various beaches on the island of Antigua to put beach access laws to the test. In this video we aim to examine this latest action taken by Opposition members, and the fallout that came about as a result.
Was there anything of note to consider? Or was it simply just another political ploy?
No. Right is right… I support many of the present government’s ventures and policies. But all beaches in Antigua belong to the people of Antigua and Barbuda. And this needs to be made known unconditionally.
Tourist need to know that too. Tourists are not oblivious to this policy and to protest. I’m sure they can identify with protest especially the Americans.
Protests are taking place right now in several US states over unconstitutional ICE raids.
Not in Antigua. Our beaches are for all of us to enjoy and that most remain.
Someone will always take protest from a political stand point. But we have lost our beaches. Many hotels are taking over the beach side and we being denied access at these beaches! I never knew beaches have security
These UPP people just want any dash of attention. They come on the streets and media with all kinds thing to gain popularity. You goons would never
Excellent work Orville and Antigua.News team.
Locals being able to access all beaches is a LOCAL political issue, and should be dealt with between the Government and the Opposition. I think the UPP crossed the line by involving and intimidating TOURISTS, as they had nothing to do with the inadequate access to beaches by locals.
The UPP is advocating for all Antiguans.if things continue ,no one will be able to enjoy the beaches fully.Come on ,laborites.don’ you picnic.
Protests happen all over the world including countries the very same tourist come from.
You all need to stop with the stupid narrative that it scares them away.
If GB had a backbone, and not so corruptible, the UPP, should not have had to take this stance! Any strong government would make public access to the beaches an absolute in any negotiatoon with outsiders. Shame on GB and the Antigua Labour Party that there are public places that a none national can go that a national cannot go! Dam shame.
These people are just a bunch of troublemakers. There is access to the beach but by all means they want to walk thru people private property
Just another way to embarass the government. What’s new?
