A fire broke out Friday at an unoccupied house along Bendals Main Road, reducing the structure to rubble despite efforts by firefighters to contain the blaze.

According to reports, the unoccupied home was filled with building materials belonging to the adopted son of the property owner. He had reportedly planned to use the materials to construct his own home.

Two fire trucks responded to the scene but the fire continued to grow despite attempts to contain it.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
