The National Guard of the United Arab Emirates says that two vessels have collided off the country’s coast; one vessel is confirmed to be an Antigua and Barbuda-flagged crude oil tanker.

Occurring in the Sea of Oman on UAE’s eastern coast, the collision happened early morning between the Antigua and Barbuda flagged Adalynn and a vessel reported to be the Liberia-flagged Front Eagle; both vessels are crude oil tankers.

Sources report that electronic interference linked to the conflict between Israel and Iran might have contributed to the collision, which appears to be have been caused by a “navigational issue”. Both vessels are reported to have caught fire, with immediate action taken in an attempt to extinguish the flames.
