Ozempic Under Fire: Authorities Crack Down on Illegal Dispensaries

A recent operation by local law enforcement has led to the detention of a man involved in the rising trend of illegal dispensaries operating across the country.

This initiative is part of a broader government campaign aimed at eradicating unauthorized medical practices, particularly those administering off-label medications such as Ozempic.

Ozempic, known for its effectiveness as a weight-loss treatment, is a prescription medication that should only be dispensed by licensed pharmacists.

However, reports indicate that some individuals are exploiting the demand for such treatments by offering them without proper medical oversight, often targeting vulnerable populations.

In response to the growing concern, the government has thrown its full weight behind the efforts of Alfred Athill, the Director of Pharmaceutical Services.

Under his guidance, authorities conducted an undercover operation over the weekend, successfully uncovering one of these illegal dispensaries.

During the operation, officials confiscated various items, including syringes filled with substances intended for unauthorized patient treatments.

While one individual was detained and questioned, he has since been released as the investigation continues.

Authorities have not yet filed any charges, but the crackdown signals a serious commitment to maintaining public health standards.

The government is urging citizens to seek medical advice and treatments only from qualified professionals, highlighting the dangers associated with receiving medical care from unlicensed providers.

More operations are expected as the push against illegal medical practices intensifies.

  2. Ozempic in Antigua is like house rent. You can’t afford it. For those who can I guess this is proof that you should always get it from a medical practitioner. Be careful.
