Brownie’s Bakery (Dwaine Looby)
Three men have been arrested following a brazen robbery at Brownie’s Bakery on Herbert’s Main Road. Tashua Benjamin, the bakery supervisor, reported that an armed, masked gunman stole approximately $3,000.00 in cash around 8:20 AM.
According to police reports, the suspect, described as a slim, dark-complexioned male dressed in a black hoodie and green ski mask, approached the cash register brandishing a black handgun.
Witnesses stated that he threatened Ms. Benjamin, demanding she “empty the cash register” while expressing a desire not to resort to violence.
Fearing for her safety, she complied, handing over the cash before the assailant fled in an easterly direction along Herberts Road.
Law enforcement was quickly notified, and a team comprising several officers, commenced an investigation. Surveillance footage from the bakery confirmed the description of the assailant, aiding police in their search for the suspect.
Acting on information regarding a getaway vehicle—a white Toyota Passo—officers intercepted the car on Jonas Road.
Inside, they apprehended three suspects: 30-year-old Estevan Ernesto Lawrence from St. Kitts and two Antiguan natives, 18-year-old Morris Belgrave and 17-year-old Ryan Richards. A substantial amount of cash was recovered from their possession.
The suspects were arrested on suspicion of robbery and transported to the St. John’s Police Station for further interrogation.
The vehicle was also seized for additional investigation.
Residents are urged to come forward with any information that could further assist the police in this matter.
Really and truly what is wrong with these young people. Are things that bad? The government is offering jobs with public works.. Are u all too cool to work?
As a judge, I’d definitely be hard on the 30 Year Old. Why do you have two teens in your act of robbery? Only teaching them to be like you early.
Did I just read two teens and a hard back man? God knows that man should pay
This not any news AN. This was since Sunday. I swore you posted this already.
