ABS Grabs Two Journalists from Observer Media Group

Elesha George and Samantha Simon are both on their way to ABS from Observer Group

Elesha George and Samantha Simon

Award-winning journalist Elesha George has taken on a new role as a senior news producer and reporter at ABS.

Originally from Dominica, she moved to Antigua and Barbuda years ago to join the Observer team but has since departed.

Known for her in-depth environmental reporting, George is expected to make a significant contribution to the ABS newsroom.

Additionally, she runs her own online publications, Island Press Box and Wadadli Unplugged.

According to her colleagues, George will be missed tremendously for her invaluable contributions and expertise.

George isn’t the only talent transitioning from the once-prominent Observer Media Group to ABS.

Samantha Simon, who previously managed the social media platform, has also secured a position at ABS as a news reporter and social media coordinator.

Recently, there has been a noticeable trend of senior journalists leaving the Observer.

    • Because back then no other radio media house wanted to give her or them a career opportunity but Observer Radio. That is something you need to think before writing your comment. A lot of skilled and professional young people are waiting the opportunities to develop Antigua and Barbuda with their knowledge. However, they are not getting the opportunity. Some of them have and had applied overseas for employment.

  8. Apex Jones. Go back to selling icepops by the roadside. Always with some non engaging basic uneducated and uniformed remarks. Go read the BBC. But then maybe reading is not your ability. What I will say is that people change jobs for monetary reasons and ABS must be paying them better

    • It might not be monetary. The environment is not as toxic. People don’t want to be caught in the partisan fray when practicing their work. No censoring in what they can report.
