Man Granted Bail In $21,000 Larceny Case

A 28-year-old man charged with breaking into a marine services business and stealing equipment worth over $21,000 has been granted bail.

Pete Cummings of Nut Grove appeared before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel this morning where he was released on $30,000 bail with $5,000 required in cash and two sureties.

As conditions of his bail, Cummings must report to the Nut Grove Police Post three times per week, is prohibited from entering English Harbour, and must stay at least 50 feet away from the victim with no interference or communication allowed.

Police arrested and charged Cummings with building breaking and larceny following an incident that occurred on May 2, 2025, around 9:20 PM at Cobbs Cross.

He is accused of stealing a green Everlast TIG welding plant valued at $16,000, an office set of drawers worth $2,000, a Milwaukee power drill valued at $11,000, and $850 in cash, all belonging to Steve Miller of Marine Power Service. The total value of the stolen items is $21,580.

The case has been adjourned until September 24.
