Police Confirm Robbery Brownie’s Bakery (Dwaine Looby)

PRESS RELEASE

St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, Wednesday, July 2, 2025

Police have arrested and jointly charged three males in connection with a robbery at Brownie’s Bakery in Herbert’s on Sunday, 29 June 2025.

Ernesto Lawrence, age 30, of Swetes Village, along with 18-year-old Maurice Belgrave, and a 16-year-old both of All Saints were charged with Aggravated Robbery, Possession of a Firearm in Furtherance of an Offence, and Unlawful Possession of Twelve (12) Rounds of .32 Ammunition.

Shortly after the incident, the accused were intercepted in a vehicle on Jonas Road and were arrested and taken into custody. They are expected to appear before the court today.

The Police Administration wishes to thank the general public for their continued support and urge anyone with information related to this or other criminal activity to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or Crimestoppers at 800-TIPS (8477).

  2. Yes, fet them off the streets. I hope the others who are planning to go down the same road think before striking. The jail over crowded already. 15 men in a cell so they can go on. Good job, offiers and civilians.

  4. Pull them down one by one! And I hope you guys deal with that 30 Year old very well! How can a community help in shaping the future if guys like you are taking the youths on robbery? I can’t imagine what would happen to Antigua after Gaston Browne move on! May not have any prime minister

  6. Is it that our people are hungry and broke? Or is it that they are lazy and willful? Let’s decide. Sending them to jail to get them out to repeat the same thing is not exactly solving the issue
