In a bid to enhance community engagement and promote healthy lifestyles, the Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has unveiled a series of community sports programmes and summer camps, set to take place across the nation during the ongoing school holidays.

Recognizing the importance of the long summer break as an optimal period for youth engagement, the Government is dedicated to facilitating structured and enjoyable activities that not only entertain but also educate and inspire the nation’s younger generation.

These initiatives are designed to foster teamwork and sportsmanship among participants, while also developing athletic skills and instilling discipline. They encourage healthy competition and aim to provide a safe and supportive environment where fun and learning can thrive. Additionally, these programs work to steer young people away from negative influences and risky behaviors.

This initiative aligns with the Government’s broader strategy to empower youth and promote national wellness through community-based action and inclusive programming.

The government is encouraging all parents and guardians to take advantage of these opportunities and register their children once official announcements and community-level call-ups are made.

The programmes will encompass a variety of interests and age groups, featuring activities such as football, cricket, basketball, netball, athletics, arts and crafts, music, and more.

Through these summer programmes, the Government reaffirms its commitment to nurturing the physical, mental, and social well-being of Antigua and Barbuda’s youth, as well as fostering safer, healthier communities for everyone.

Parents and guardians are urged to stay informed about registration details to ensure their children do not miss out on these enriching opportunities. for all.
