Community on High Alert After Multiple Reports of Child Luring Attempts

Community concern is mounting following multiple reports of attempted child luring involving suspicious vehicles across various areas in Antigua, with at least three incidents reported in recent weeks.

The latest case involved a white Toyota Vitz, where a man reportedly tried to lure an 11-year-old girl into the vehicle. A photo of the car was shared with local authorities and has since circulated on social media as parents and community members issue warnings to remain vigilant.

In a separate incident in Fort Road, an 8-year-old girl walking just a short distance to her aunt’s house was approached by a stranger in a silver Toyota Vitz. The child, thankfully, was unharmed and able to alert nearby adults.

Another disturbing report involved a 10-year-old boy who had just exited a Potters bus and was on his way to meet his father on High Street when he was approached by two men in a white Honda CRV. Fortunately, he was not harmed and managed to evade the individuals.

While no abductions have occurred, the similarities in the incidents, targeting young children and involving specific vehicle models, have heightened public anxiety.

Parents, guardians, and community leaders are calling for heightened awareness, improved patrol presence in vulnerable areas, and the installation of surveillance cameras near schools and bus stops.

  5. What the heck wrong with these subhumans? While I personally believe sin is sin, those harming children, the disabled and the elderly deserve extreme reprimands even as severe as the death penalty. LEAVE ARE WE PICKNY THEM ALONE!!! and allow them to enjoy the innocence of being children. Ayo sick dag tummuck!!!

  6. With carnival approaching, this situation needs to be under control. The government needs to start installing CCTV cameras around St John’s city, and the strategic areas out of town. Who are these young men that are going around snatching our young children, and who are these young men parents, especially their fathers that brought such monsters in the world. Are these young men/women working for someone in high status and authority in the country??
