The country’s leader, Prime Minister Gaston Browne, has officially arrived in Grenada for the highly anticipated AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum (ACTIF), now in its fourth edition.

Prime Minister Browne received a warm and ceremonious welcome from Grenadian officials upon his arrival at Maurice Bishop International Airport.

Port Manager Darwin Telemaque, Ambassador Devin Joseph, and various government officials are also representing the country at this prominent event, which is attracting over 1,800 delegates from around the globe.

The ACTIF, an annual investment forum initiated by Afreximbank in collaboration with CARICOM member states, aims to foster stronger trade and investment flows between Africa and the Caribbean.

This year’s forum is not only a platform for sharing vital trade and market information but also promotes cultural linkages between these two regions, emphasizing the importance of collaboration across various sectors, including agriculture, tourism, and finance.

The objectives of ACTIF are ambitious yet vital: to boost economic collaboration, facilitate partnerships, and enhance connectivity between the regions.

The initiative aims to address the current challenge of trade between Africa and the Caribbean, which accounts for less than 1% of total exports between the two regions.

Past editions of the forum have shown promising results, with strong potential for growth in trade and investment opportunities.

Recent reports from the International Trade Centre indicate that trade between Africa and the Caribbean could reach upwards of US$2.1 billion in the coming years, particularly in sectors such as minerals, machinery, and processed foods.

The 2025 edition of ACTIF is scheduled for 28–29 July in St. George’s, Grenada, with a focus on resilience and transformation amidst global uncertainties.

As more delegates converge in Grenada for this year’s forum, attendees can expect productive discussions, high-level engagements, and opportunities to explore investment prospects in key sectors.

With the participation of business leaders, diplomats, and representatives from various international organizations, ACTIF promises to be a pivotal event for fostering economic growth and promoting a unified approach towards prosperity in both Africa and the Caribbean.
