Opposition Leader Jamale Pringle

Jamale Pringle, the Opposition Leader for the United Progressive Party (UPP), has lodged a formal complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department following a controversial incident involving a contracted performance for Labour Day 2025.

According to Mr. Pringle, he engaged the services of Stardon Records to secure a performance by the popular artist Armani Givenchy Moodie. The contract, overseen by Mr. Pringle’s attorney, Bowen & Bowen, outlined a performance fee of $10,000 USD, of which half was paid as a down payment. However, the day of the show, Mr. Pringle reported that the performance team failed to appear, leading to significant disappointment among attendees and no return of the deposit.

In his statement to authorities, Mr. Pringle expressed his frustration not only over the breach of contract but also highlighted that he received neither an apology nor his deposit back from Stardon Records.

He indicated that he had reason to believe that the team would be in Antigua again for a carnival season show, prompting him to request police assistance in recovering his funds.

As the investigation unfolds, Mr. Pringle has been advised on the next steps he can take to pursue a resolution. The situation raises questions about contractual obligations and the responsibilities of entertainment companies when engagements are not upheld.

This incident not only highlights the challenges faced by organizers in the entertainment industry but also the potential legal ramifications for businesses that fail to meet their commitments.

  1. Is that primarily a police matter? In my untrained mind, its a civil matter to be thrashed out first and foremost between competent legal minds – not panty-waists like Bowen. Which Laws of Antigua did this singer allegedly break to rationalize the use of national police force to help Pringle and Bowen sort out their amateur arrangement. So that three months after yet another failed event, you HEAR that your phantom performer will be in town. So you want our police force to, as we say in Antigua, “coop” the guy for you and Bowen???? And arrest him on what charge(s) . Show dem de A+ dunce(s)

  5. In the first place, why hired an overseas artist? Antigua has enough good artists here that could be utilized.

  6. What exactly led to the cancellation of the performance? Was it an act of sabotage, intimidation, or a breach of contract? The complaint to the CID indicates potential criminal activity.
