The country’s tourism minister, Charles Fernandez, has informed the Cabinet that construction has officially begun on the highly anticipated Marriott – Yepton House, A Luxury Collection Resort, in Antigua.
According to the Minister, 36 forty-foot containers of building materials have already arrived on the island and are currently being cleared for use in the project.
The resort will feature 114 guest rooms, complemented by a range of upscale amenities, including a signature restaurant, lobby bar, meeting rooms, a Kids’ Club, and retail shops in the main building. Guests will also enjoy access to a state-of-the-art gym and spa, complete with single and double treatment rooms and a relaxation deck.
Adding to its appeal, the development will include a Water Sports Centre and Rum Shack, as well as eight overwater villas—a first of its kind in Antigua.
The project is expected to be completed in time for the 2027 winter tourist season, further strengthening Antigua and Barbuda’s position as a premier luxury destination in the Caribbean.

Love this project. Hopefully, they hire many Antiguans for construction and operations.
This is a big investment and shows confidence in Antigua’s tourism sector. Let’s just make sure it’s sustainable.
