Amerijet has resumed cargo operations at VC Bird International Airport after a temporary halt caused by mechanical issues with its private ground handling equipment.

The suspension was triggered when the airline’s ground handler reported a fault with its main deck loader, the heavy-duty machine used to safely load and unload shipments. The delay disrupted scheduled cargo deliveries until a replacement part could be sourced and installed.

Flights resumed on Friday evening, restoring a key service for local businesses and residents who depend on Amerijet for the movement of goods, including commercial supplies and essential imports.

Amerijet is considered an essential logistics partner for Antigua and Barbuda, maintaining vital trade links with the United States and the wider Caribbean.
