Lee Joshua Lesley aka Aladin

A young man named Lee Joshua Leslie or Aladin was shot and killed in Grand Bay earlier today.

Details surrounding the incident remain limited, as police have yet to release a full report. However, residents say the shooting has once again shaken the community, which has been grappling with a troubling rise in gun-related violence in recent months.

In earlier statements on the issue, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit assured the public that his government is working to stem the flow of illegal weapons into the country. He pledged that law enforcement agencies are doing all within their power to eliminate the presence of firearms and restore peace to Dominica’s communities.

Today’s killing adds to mounting concerns and highlights the urgency of the government’s efforts to tackle gun crime across the island.
