Antigua Cruise Port Launches Record-Breaking 2025/2026 Cruise Season

Antigua Cruise Port has officially launched its 2025/2026 season, with expectations set for a record-breaking year in cruise tourism. The season began on Thursday, October 2, when Rhapsody of the Seas made the first scheduled call, kicking off what is projected to be the busiest period in the port’s history.

Running from October 1, 2025, to May 31, 2026, the season is expected to bring more than one million cruise passengers to Antigua and Barbuda. This milestone represents a 33 percent increase over last year and underscores the island’s growing reputation as a premier Caribbean destination.

Work is also progressing on the long-anticipated Upland Development Project, which will deliver a modern cruise terminal aimed at transforming the passenger experience. The new terminal, set to welcome P&O’s Arvia on November 15, will include enhanced check-in facilities and upgraded amenities designed to streamline homeporting operations.

“This cruise season promises to be our busiest yet,” said Gasper George, General Manager of Antigua Cruise Port. “With the first ship now docked and our Upland Development nearing completion, we are well on our way to delivering on our promise of a world-class, future-ready port.”

George credited the success to strong partnerships within the tourism sector and the dedication of the Cruise Port team. He noted that service levels and facilities had been upgraded over the summer to ensure a smooth and memorable experience for both passengers and cruise lines.

With over a million visitors expected in the months ahead, officials say Antigua and Barbuda’s cruise industry is entering a new era of growth, one that not only boosts tourism but also creates wider economic opportunities for the country.
