WATCH: PM Browne to Introduce AI Music Student Program at ICT Centre

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has announced plans to establish an artificial intelligence (AI) unit at the ICT Centre to help nurture young talent in Antigua and Barbuda’s growing music industry.

Speaking over the weekend, Browne revealed that a U.S.-based technology company has already pledged to donate the necessary software to launch the initiative.

The innovative program aims to give young creatives access to AI tools capable of teaching, composing, and producing music—helping to merge technology with artistic expression.

The Prime Minister said the move forms part of his broader vision to equip young people with the digital skills needed for the future, while fostering new opportunities in music, entertainment, and creative entrepreneurship.

  1. Nothing wrong with having an Ai component, but not as the main course. I would like to see music production and sound engineering being taught at a professional level. There’s a wide field where persons with that skilset can go into.

From being music producers, working in film/television to working at at large concerts/events/festivals.

      • The way things are going it’s definitely moving into that direction so I comment the PM. We are moving away from the normal way of doing things. Step in the tight direction

  3. Artificial intelligence is what the world is going towards. If we can use it and still get young people engaged then that’s good
