Hospital Raises Funds to Purchase New Mammogram Machine for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the nation’s main hospital has launched a fundraising drive with a crucial goal, to purchase a new mammogram machine that will enhance early detection and improve treatment outcomes for breast cancer patients.

Hospital officials say the initiative comes at a time when access to reliable diagnostic equipment is essential for timely and effective care.

To help raise the necessary funds, the hospital is selling breast cancer awareness pins and wristbands, which can be purchased from the main cashier at the hospital. For added convenience, the items are also available at Woods Pharmacy.

All proceeds will go directly toward the acquisition of the new machine, which will expand screening capabilities and reduce waiting times for patients.

Officials emphasized that every contribution, no matter how small, brings the hospital one step closer to reaching its goal.

The campaign will continue throughout the month as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen local healthcare services and promote breast cancer awareness across Antigua and Barbuda.

  1. Didn’t Medical Benefits Scheme has a surplus of over $30 million for emergency like this? All these businesses in Antigua and Barbuda owned by outside investors, they all need to get together and donate the mammogram equipment to the hospital as charitable donation. A huge write off on their incorporation business tax. The government has done so much for them granting them concessions and other perks.
