Heavy rainfall continues to pound Antigua and Barbuda this morning, as unstable weather linked to Tropical Storm Jerry lingers over the area.
According to the Antigua and Barbuda Meteorological Service, the storm has shifted northwest and away from the Leeward Islands, prompting the discontinuation of the tropical storm watch for Antigua and tropical storm warning for Barbuda.
However, moisture and instability trailing the system continue to produce widespread showers and thunderstorms across the islands.
Forecasters estimate that between 19 and 50 millimetres (0.75 to 2 inches) of rain could fall over the forecast period, heightening the risk of flash flooding, especially in low-lying and flood-prone communities.
A flash flood advisory remains in effect until 8:00 a.m., with residents urged to remain cautious, avoid flooded roads, and stay tuned for further updates as heavy rains persist throughout the day.
