Nine Suspects in Police Custody in Connection with Shooting at Fort James

Nine male suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations into a shooting incident that occurred at Fort James Beach on Thursday, October 9, 2025.

According to reports, around 10:32 p.m., officers responded to a report of a shooting in which two individuals alleged that they were fired upon by a group of five men.

Following the report, officers from various units conducted extensive patrols in the Dry Hill and Fort Road areas. During these operations, three vehicles and multiple occupants were intercepted and searched. A 17-year-old of Cooks Hill was among the group.

All the individuals were arrested on suspicion of shooting and taken to the St. John’s Police Station. The vehicles were also taken to the police headquarters for further investigation.

The Police Administration is appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information that can assist in the investigation to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or call 911. All information will be treated with the strictest confidentiality.
