Antigua and Barbuda is set to deepen its maritime partnership with Panama; one of the world’s leading logistics hubs.
Prime Minister Gaston Browne has directed Ambassador Sir Ron Sanders to spearhead negotiations between the Antigua Port Authority and Panamanian ports to explore areas of cooperation in shipping, warehousing, and trade facilitation.
“There are opportunities to exploit greater logistics between our ports,” Browne said, emphasizing Antigua’s ambition to expand its regional trade influence.
Given Panama’s status as the gateway between the Atlantic and Pacific, this collaboration could open new supply-chain opportunities for Antigua and Barbuda, especially as the country continues to modernize its own port infrastructure.
