Mary Statue vs Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream Statue (By Peetron Thomas)
By Peetron Thomas
Let me be clear from the start. I am only mentioning Mother Mary as an example to open people’s eyes and help them realize that statues aren’t always a bad thing. Many of these items are simply part of people’s traditions and beliefs, and traditions should be respected for what they are. Not everyone can believe the same thing, and not everyone wants the same thing.
In the Bible, there were Jews and Gentiles, yet they all served one God. So let us stop dividing ourselves and creating unnecessary controversy in our nation.
Let me be clear again. I am not saying that Mother Mary statues should come down. What I am saying is that we must allow people’s beliefs to stand as they are. We should not view Nebuchadnezzar’s dream or anyone’s interpretation of it as something negative. Everyone has the right to choose what they believe and where they invest their time, energy, and money.
No one tells another person how to spend their money, how to worship, or whom to worship. This is 2025, and we should expect a higher level of understanding and maturity. The Bible teaches that prophecy must be fulfilled, so let it fulfill itself. Stop fighting one another.
Churches uniting to fight against other churches. How does that sound? Is that what Christ taught? Are division and condemnation part of a church’s fundamental beliefs? We need to take a serious look at what is really happening among the churches in Antigua.
Instead of rivalry and division, we should focus on prayer, supplication, and fasting. Those are the true tools of change.
“Lowe dah people dem statue.” Personally, I do not believe anyone is worshipping it. Many of these things are simply part of culture, heritage, and long-standing customs. Let people believe what they want. Christ never forced or demanded that people worship Him. He evangelized with love, not destruction and division.
And let us be honest. There are many Satanic worship activities and practices around us, yet we rarely talk about them. Yet we focus energy on trying to take down a scriptural-based statue. Please, let us get our act together and show some religious maturity.
Let us focus on unity, not conflict. Let us fix our eyes on God, not on each other’s differences. Antigua is too small for division. Let love, wisdom, and peace guide us instead.
Which of these statues should go down? NONE.

Comparing Mary to Nebuchadnezzar’s statue feels like comparing grace to greed, two different worlds.
But still statues, correct? Neither should have been made! They will all fall under idols. What goes for one should go for all, whether big or small.
This article is demon base.yes it’s true that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ preach love he didn’t force his standard on anyone, he do give you a choice, either heaven or hell, either his way or the devil way. You can’t serve two Master at the same time either you hate or love the other u can’t serve two, the Bible say don’t be deceived the Lord is not mock no homosexual no fornicators no (idolaters ) will enter in the Kingdom of heaven, the Lord Jesus Christ standard is crystal clear,it’s a( Sin) have a blessed day Ms Thomas am praying for you.
Well said Peetron.
Well said, Peetron.
We all have different beliefs and are entitled to them.
The new one that people are arguing about isn’t spreading hatred, so why are they worried about it?
hmmmmmmm
I agree with the writer
This young man is an exceptional writer and journalist. His perspective actually made me take a whole different look on this statue. Very smart fellow.
Proud of you Peetron! I love this. You are so correct.
No statue is idolatry unless it is being worshipped
All this nonesence and children in Antigua hungry and cannot eat a proper meal.
I see where the writer coming from, but we must also be careful. Not everything tradition mean it right. Still, no need to bash each other.
Finally! Somebody talking sense. We too divided over simple things. Everybody want be right, but nobody want respect other people belief.
I don’t agree with all of it still, but I respect the message. People must have freedom to believe what they want, same way others have freedom to disagree.
Facts! Every lil’ thing turn into fight these days. If somebody want a statue in they church, how that hurting you?
