Cooks Shooting Victim Remains Hospitalized in Stable Condition

The man who was shot in the chest during an attempted robbery in the Cooks area early Saturday morning remains hospitalized but is said to be in a stable condition.

According to reports, the victim was on his way to the market shortly after 4 a.m. when he was accosted by a masked gunman who demanded money before opening fire, hitting him in the chest. The gunman then fled the scene on foot.

Emergency Medical Services arrived around 4:20 a.m. and transported the injured man to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where he continues to receive care. Medical sources have since confirmed that his condition has stabilized, though he remains under observation.

Police investigations are continuing, and authorities are urging anyone with information that could help identify or locate the shooter to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or call 911.
