The Long Bay Brewing Company, a proudly Antiguan-owned enterprise known for its locally crafted lager, IPA, and stout, opened its doors on Tuesday to give the public a behind-the-scenes look at its operations.
The ‘Open House’ event welcomed members of the media, consumers, and business partners, offering insight into how the company has been brewing success since its establishment three years ago under the Barrett Group.
Initially focused on supplying bars, hotels, and restaurants with beer in kegs, Long Bay Brewing made a major leap into the retail market this summer by launching its line of canned beers.

“The response has been overwhelmingly positive,” said marketing consultant Calvert Francis. “Consumers have embraced the product, and we’re seeing strong support from every corner of Antigua and Barbuda.”
As part of its brand-building efforts, Long Bay Brewing has become a familiar name on the local entertainment scene. The company served as the official beer of Carnival 2025, sponsored several mas troupes, and supported major cultural events such as Caribana in Barbuda and The Melting Pot Show.
“We’ve been very intentional about connecting with the culture and the people,” Francis explained. “Our sponsorships are a way to show that Long Bay Beer is rooted in community and celebration.”
The company has now expanded its distribution network to ensure availability across the twin-island nation—from Freetown to English Harbour, and throughout St. John’s, including major supermarkets.
Francis noted that the competitive pricing allows bars and retail outlets to offer their own promotions, making the product accessible to a wider audience.
Customer feedback, he said, has been encouraging, with many comparing the local brew favorably to well-known international brands.

Currently, the brewery produces between 1,500 and 2,000 cases per week, but has the capacity to ramp up production to 3,000 cases if demand continues to rise.
While the immediate focus is on strengthening its presence at home, Francis hinted at regional expansion in the future.
“We’re proud to be brewing right here in Antigua and Barbuda,” he said. “Our goal is to build a brand that represents local craftsmanship and eventually carries the Antiguan name across the Caribbean.”
