Two Charged with Damaging Vehicles and Stealing Items from Soca Sangria Patrons

Two individuals have been charged with a series of offences stemming from an incident that occurred on November 2 during the Soca Sangria event.

Omar Richards, 19, of Carnival Gardens, and St. Claire Simon, 26, of Barnes Hill, appeared before Senior Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel on Tuesday where they faced multiple criminal complaints.

Richards and Simon, along with other persons known to authorities, are facing several charges.

The complaints detail a range of alleged offences including giving false information to police, malicious damage to personal property belonging to several individuals, and theft.

Among the items allegedly stolen or damaged are a Nissan Xtrail key, one black scraper valued, one Versace perfume, one orange and black item, Victoria Secret Pure Seduction lotion, and Apple Air pods – all valued at $977. The items belonged to one man, and the individuals were able to access the items after they got into his vehicle by breaking a glass.

They were also charged for breaking the glass of several other vehicles.

Richards was already on bond following a larceny charge.

Both accused are on remand and are scheduled to return to court on Friday.
