Roadworks across Antigua are expected to accelerate following Government’s securing of a $100 million financing package dedicated to islandwide repairs.
The 2026 Speech from the Throne reported that road users are now contributing to a special fund through vehicle-related payments, ensuring a sustainable long-term financing model.
Upcoming projects include:
• Major resurfacing of highways and village roads
• Re-piping beneath roadways before resurfacing
• Continued runway repairs at V.C. Bird International Airport
• Installation of an underwater internet cable in 2026
