A Civil Registry employee will serve nearly two years in prison following his conviction on illegal weapons charges.
Twenty-eight-year-old Sedeki Akelo Andre of Gambles received concurrent sentences of one year and nine months for firearm possession and one year for ammunition possession when he appeared before Senior Magistrate Emanuel on Thursday.
The case stems from an incident at a local nightclub on November 16, when a police officer observed Andre entering the venue with a suspicious bulge at his waistline.
When the officer requested to conduct a search, Andre became uncooperative, telling the officer, “Everything good. Me good. Na touch me,” and physically resisted the officer’s attempts to detain him.
A security guard intervened to assist, and during the ensuing struggle, a 9mm Taurus pistol fell from Andre’s clothing. Officers also recovered seven rounds of 9mm ammunition.
Andre, represented by attorney Wayne Marsh, entered guilty pleas to both charges when he first appeared in court on Tuesday. He was remanded to custody ahead of Thursday’s sentencing.

Sedeki how you end up in that. How you damnass so. You know better than that
Imagine a government employee someone who handles sensitive documents being caught with a loaded 9mm in a club. That is extremely alarming.
Look at this. You wake up each day and never know what is ahead for us. Im sure you didn’t plan to spend your Christmas in prison
These Andre boys are problem children. They were raised by both parents and both parents are hard working, good-looking, and respectable. Don’t know what the problem with the sons is.
Good. Actions have consequences. Too many young men walking around with illegal weapons like it’s normal. The court sent the right message
Too many illegal guns are circulating, and every week there’s another case. People need to understand the seriousness of this
The fact that he resisted the officer and still tried to downplay it with ‘everything good’ shows he knew exactly what he was doing
If the officer and the security guard didn’t step in quickly, who knows how that night might have ended. This is why checks are important.
Nightclubs are already high-risk environments once alcohol, crowds, and tight spaces mix. Bringing a gun into that setting is dangerous, so the sentence reflects how seriously the law treats it.
