Louis Armstrong Jr.
The Fort Road community is in mourning following the death of 43-year-old Louis Armstrong Jr., who succumbed to multiple gunshot injuries early Saturday morning despite exhaustive efforts by medical staff.
Armstrong was shot early Friday morning as he exited his vehicle at his home. He sustained severe wounds to the head, chest, eyes, and left hand. Emergency services rushed him to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre, where doctors and nurses worked tirelessly throughout the day and night to keep him alive.
Hospital sources say teams fought “every step of the way,” stabilizing him, administering critical care, and monitoring him closely as his condition fluctuated. Despite their best efforts, Armstrong’s injuries proved too extensive, and he died at approximately 7:24 a.m. on Saturday.
The case has now officially transitioned from a shooting investigation to a murder investigation, and police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
Armstrong’s death has left family, friends, and neighbours devastated, with many describing the killing as another painful reminder of rising gun violence in the country.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the attack.

This is disheartening what’s going on in this little Antigua. Lord help us. Cover our loved ones under your blood. Condolences to the family and friends.
Condolences to the family
Clearly a case of overkill! Should be investigated from that angle first, in my humble opinion.
After a few days this will go away where is the killers for all the young ladies, and the others for the little girl antigua not serious about all these killings, politicians meeting with gang members still no one arrested looking sideways.
This is tragic. The doctors did everything they could, but the real issue is the level of gun violence we’re seeing in Antigua. Something has to change.
This is not just another murder. This is someone’s child who was gunned down at his own home. It’s too much.
My heart breaks for his mother. She stayed by his bedside, hoping for a miracle. Nobody should ever have to go through that kind of pain.
My heart goes out to the family… arriving barely alive shows just how critical those minutes were.
Louis didn’t deserve this. He was a quiet man who minded his business and loved his family. This one really hurting all of us in Fort Road.”
I hope those responsible are brought to justice quickly. The family deserves answers, and the community deserves peace.
People are scared. If someone can be shot like that right at their doorstep, what does that say about safety in this country?
The doctors and nurses need to be recognized. They fought for him all day and all night. You could see the weight on their faces when the news came.
You didnt have to die this way at all
The whole community didn’t sleep Friday night. Everyone was praying he would pull through. To wake up to the news that he died… it’s like the air got sucked out of Fort Road
I think it’s time for qt Benjamin to step aside as the his presence and the police are incompetent just like Charlie and others who lost their lives.my country was never like this
