Tourism Ministry Clarifies Misleading Video on Rising Sun Grounds Clean-Up

25 November 2025 - 10:06

The Ministry of Tourism has moved to correct misinformation circulating on social media after a video claimed that garbage was left scattered at the Rising Sun Grounds following the Tourism Blast Off event on Saturday, 22 November.

According to the Ministry, the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) confirmed that all trash and receptacles were cleared from the venue on the same night as the event. Cleanup teams completed their work before leaving the grounds.

Officials also indicated that a separate, unrelated event took place at the same location on Sunday, 23 November. They believe this subsequent activity is the likely source of the waste shown in the viral video.

The Ministry emphasised its continued commitment to maintaining clean and safe public event spaces and thanked the public for its understanding as the situation is clarified.

You need to get your facts straight before you go making yourself a fool on social media, this garbage was left there by on Sunday by the people who had a function i passed the function there while on my way to another function at the botanical gardens so get your facts straight before pointing fingers 👉 the function from Saturday has nothing to do with this garbage on the field so please apologize to the ministry for your false accusations
