A 30-year-old Jamaican woman was left homeless on Monday evening after a fire destroyed her small wooden house, police have since arrested a man in connection with the blaze.
According to State Media, Vanessa Benain, reportedly left her 16×16 wooden dwelling shortly after 4:45 p.m. She told investigators she was away when she received a call around 8:08 p.m. informing her that her home was on fire.
By the time she rushed back, the structure had already been engulfed and firefighters were battling the remaining flames. Nothing inside the house was saved.
Authorities say the building had no electricity and was not insured, raising early concerns about what may have sparked the blaze. Firefighters and police launched a joint investigation at the scene.
Not long after, officers arrested a man on suspicion of arson as they probe whether the fire was deliberately set. His identity has not been released, and detectives say their investigation is ongoing.

Jealousy is a complex emotion involving feelings of insecurity, fear, and anger, typically triggered by the perception of a threat to a valued relationship or possession by a third party.
It can stem from situations like a perceived rival in love, envy over someone’s success, or a fear of losing status, and it may manifest as suspicion, resentment, or protectiveness.
While a normal and occasional emotion, persistent or extreme jealousy can damage relationships and negatively impact mental and physical health.
If what the police assert is found true, partner boy!!!!
Sorry for your loss Lung lady. Sounds like another man that cannot control his emotions
And is always then Jamaican man that behave so. Get over it and move on jack
Praying for this young woman. Starting over from nothing is tough.
Another case showing why vulnerable people need proper housing support. Too many people living in unsafe structures
Support services will be crucial for her now, given she has lost everything while the investigation continues.
Good that someone was arrested, but thorough investigation needed. Too many suspicious fires lately.
So sad… glad the police moved quickly. I hope justice is served.
