Commissioner Everton Jeffers

Commissioner of Police Everton Jeffers has commended the dedication of police officers while warning that youth-related crime remains a growing concern requiring urgent, coordinated action.

Speaking during his Christmas address at the Multipurpose Cultural Center, Jeffers said the Police Administration will continue working with key stakeholders to address youth offending, praising the Youth Intervention Unit and partners for the success of the “END IT HOW” Summer Camp, which saw more than 50 students graduate earlier this year.

He also revealed significant enforcement successes, including the seizure of approximately 600 pounds of cannabis valued at EC$3.5 million, along with 52 illegal firearms and more than 770 rounds of ammunition through joint operations.

Looking ahead, Jeffers urged officers to prepare for heightened responsibilities in 2026, including security duties for the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), while maintaining mental and physical readiness.

He closed by extending Christmas greetings to officers and their families and reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to safer communities built on partnership, faith, and public trust.
