Antigua Cruise Port is closing out 2025 with confidence and momentum as construction advances on the highly anticipated Upland Development Project, including the destination’s new state-of-the-art cruise terminal.
Officials say the ongoing transformation represents a significant milestone in the public-private partnership between Global Ports Holding (GPH) and the Government of Antigua and Barbuda, charting “the next chapter” for the country’s cruise industry.
Recent aerial imagery of the port showcases multiple cruise vessels alongside in St. John’s Harbour — a visible indication of growing confidence from cruise partners and strong demand for the destination as a premier tourism stop.
Antigua Cruise Port notes that the benefits of enhanced cruise infrastructure extend across the local economy, supporting taxi operators, tour guides, merchants, small businesses, and a wide network of tourism stakeholders.
“Cruise tourism continues to work for our people and our nation,” the company stated, underscoring that the sector plays a critical role in job creation, community development, and boosting Antigua and Barbuda’s global visibility.
The upgraded terminal and surrounding upland amenities are expected to elevate the visitor experience and further strengthen the country’s competitive position in the regional cruise market.
Further project updates will be shared as work progresses into 2026.
