PRESS STATEMENT

Senator Hon. Colin O’Neal Browne is rightfully refuting a recent deliberate misrepresentation of remarks that were expressed at a recent vigil, to which he was invited by the Venezuelan Ambassador, Carmen Velasquez.

While Senator Browne was quite measured in expressing an appreciation to be invited to the momentous occasion of solidarity and peace, he did not make any statements criticizing the removal of the Venezuelan leadership of the sovereign state, nor did he address the internal political situation in Venezuela, as published by the Antigua Newsroom on January 23, 2025.

The comments attributed to him in the Antigua Newsroom are profoundly inaccurate, misleading and should be retracted forthwith and with an apology. Failure to comply immediately will leave Senator Browne no other alternative but to seek legal redress soonest.

  11. If they know that he never said whatever they claimed he expressed in his remarks, that is misrepresentation of the truth.
One thing, I know this dude and he never smiles unless he is in the studio working. Always serious and hardly speaks in public, but in studio he tears the UPP to pieces. Antigua Newsroom now that you have retracted your lies, he demands an apology. If you think you are brazen and bold, nah apologize.
