Lasean Bully, of Cashew Hill; Wayne Thomas, of Hatton; and Saleim Harrigan of Greenbay — were charged with killing Christian.

Three men accused of kidnapping and killing a senior Customs official stood before a jury this morning as the long-awaited murder trial of Lasean Bully, Wayne Thomas, and Saleim Harrigan got underway before Justice Rajiv Persaud.

The jury, composed of five men and six women with two alternates, was impanelled as heightened security measures were put in place inside the courtroom. Bully of Cashew Hill, Thomas of Hatton, and Harrigan of Greenbay have all maintained their innocence since being charged.

Director of Public Prosecutions Clement Joseph and Crown Counsel Curtis Cornelius are presenting the case for the Crown, while Sherfield Bowen appears for Thomas, Michael Archibald for Bully, and Wendel Alexander for Harrigan.

The prosecution’s case centres on the events of July 10, 2020, when 44-year-old Nigel Christian was snatched from his McKinnons home. The Crown alleges the men arrived dressed in camouflage uniforms, jumped a fence, announced themselves as police, and drove off with the senior Customs official. His body, riddled with gunshot wounds, was found shortly afterward in the Thibou’s area.

With over 50 witnesses listed, the trial is expected to last approximately six weeks. The first witness is set to take shortly.

  1. Where is the fourth suspect for Nigel Christian’s murder trial? Those three guys need to talk. We need the fourth man; maybe he is the one who pulls the trigger.
