Police have charged a Green Bay resident with murder following a fatal stabbing incident that left one man dead earlier this week.

Kevin Frederick, 57, of George Street, Green Bay, was formally charged after investigations into the death of 44-year-old Dalton Cornwall of Jennings. The incident occurred on Wednesday, February 25, along Valley Road, according to police reports.

Authorities say Cornwall sustained a puncture wound during the altercation and was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre for emergency medical treatment. Despite efforts by medical staff, he later succumbed to his injuries.

Frederick was subsequently taken into custody and later charged with murder following continued police investigations. Law enforcement officials have indicated that inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident remain ongoing.

The accused is expected to appear before the Magistrate’s Court at the earliest opportunity to answer to the charge.

Police are appealing to anyone with information that may assist the investigation to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or call the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline at 800-TIPS (8477). The Police Administration has also extended condolences to the family and loved ones of Dalton Cornwall during this difficult time.
