Sir Rodney Williams, Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda, joined the Mount Zion 7th Day Temple of Yah on Saturday morning to celebrate its 11th Anniversary Service at the church’s sanctuary on Jonas Road.

The service, which began at 9:30 a.m., marked more than a decade of spiritual leadership and community outreach by the congregation under the guidance of Pastor/Apostle Chris Alexander and First Lady/Evangelist Alexander. The celebration featured scripture readings from Psalm 24 and Philippians 1:6, vibrant praise and worship, musical selections by the Men’s and Women’s Ministries, and presentations from the Youth and Junior Departments. A Year’s Report was also delivered, outlining the church’s growth and continued impact over the past year.

In addressing the congregation, the Governor General congratulated the leadership and members on reaching what he described as a significant milestone. He characterised the 11-year journey as a reflection of vision, faith, perseverance and unity of purpose.
Referencing the scriptures read during the service, His Excellency underscored the importance of stewardship, moral character and national responsibility. He praised the church’s strong emphasis on youth development, family life and community engagement, noting that faith-based institutions remain essential to the moral and social foundation of Antigua and Barbuda.
He further encouraged the congregation to remain steadfast in its mission and to continue extending its outreach beyond the sanctuary into the wider community, expressing confidence that the ministry would continue to grow and positively influence lives in the years ahead.

The anniversary observance concluded with prayers for invited guests, a blessing and benediction, followed by fellowship among members and supporters. The Governor General extended his best wishes to the Mount Zion 7th Day Temple of Yah, offering prayers for continued guidance and success in its ongoing work.
