Commonwealth Quilt Initiative Launches at John E. St. Luce Conference Centre
The Commonwealth Quilt Initiative is officially launching this morning at 9:30 a.m. at the John E. St. Luce Conference Centre, bringing together creatives, storytellers and community members in a celebration of shared identity and expression.
Titled “How to Make a Commonwealth Quilt,” the initiative is a Commonwealth-wide call inviting individuals to contribute their voices through stories, ideas, lived experiences and reflections on cultural identity.
Organisers say the project aims to weave together diverse perspectives from across member states, creating a symbolic quilt that reflects unity, heritage and the richness of the Commonwealth community.
The launch event is expected to highlight how participants can get involved and contribute their unique pieces to the growing tapestry of voices.

I think initiatives like this are exactly what the Commonwealth needs right now. Too often we focus on politics and economics, but celebrating shared heritage and stories brings people closer in a way that no summit or agreement can.
I’m excited to see how this grows over time. Will it travel, be displayed in exhibitions, or be digitized for global access? That would make it truly impactful.
fingers crossed that this goes well
I was very confused. I really thought this had to do with a quilt
