Residents and businesses in Newfield are being advised to prepare for temporary water outages over the next several days as the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) continues work on a major pipeline upgrade in the community.
In a service update issued by the APUA Water Business Unit, the utility reminded customers that work is ongoing on the Newfield mainline replacement project, which is aimed at strengthening the reliability of the area’s water distribution network.
As part of the upgrade, technical teams will be making several connections to the newly installed pipeline over the coming days.
Because of this work, water distribution will be temporarily interrupted between approximately 8:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. daily for the next four days while the connections are carried out.
Customers are being encouraged to store adequate supplies of water to meet their household needs during the outage periods.
APUA thanked residents for their patience and cooperation as the improvements are completed, noting that the upgrades are designed to enhance the resilience and efficiency of the water system serving the Newfield community.
