CIBC Caribbean’s Music For The Cure-A Phenomenal Experience

CIBC Caribbean’s first Walk for the Cure event Music for Cure, by all reviews, was a phenomenal experience. The Bank, through its fundraising efforts, continues to raise funds and awareness by engaging every age group and interests in Antigua. Music for the Cure, a platform for kids to display talent and raise awareness, took place on Sunday March 1st, 2026 at the Spring Gardens Moravian Church.

The afternoon began with a warm welcome by Genesis Williams, Analah Williams, Isabella Wiik and Zary Williams, followed by the soulful sounds of instrumentals played by Tristan & Isabel Nicholas, a piece arranged by George Roberts.

Several schools including Freemans Village Primary, Golden Grove Primary, Freetown Primary, Urlings Primary and Pares Secondary contributed through song, pan, instrumentals and choral speaking. Zane Williams and Amelie Peterson presented songs by the legends “Prince” and Bob Marley.

Island Creatives dance group and the Roman Catholic Liturgical dancers poured their hearts into every move. Walk Manager Khadijah James expressed how pleasing it was to see the reaction of the audience.

Solo singers Alijah Richards, Alleah Alread, Emma Turner, Temouri Swift and Chole Lewis lifted the room, creating joy and happy tears. The audience could not get enough. The afternoon ended with rising powerhouse singer, Enoch Thomas (Winner of Praise Break Gospel Quest Antigua & Barbuda 2025).

Boisterous screams and cheers from the audience engulfed the room, as he lifted hearts with a song by Whitney Houston.

Walk manager and organizer of Music for the Cure, Natasha Charles indicated that it was an unforgettable afternoon and the bank is pleased with the talent and leadership displayed by the kids. The bank expresses thanks to the Walk for the Cure committee; the Spring Garden Moravian Church for hosting the event a 2nd year and also Epicurean, Mega Distributors, A.W.H wholesale, Premier Beverages, Ambrosia Foods and Jamaica biscuits for providing light refreshment for the kids.

Country Head Priscilla Leonce indicated that 2026 is the 15-year anniversary of Walk for the cure so, it will be filled with more exciting events as we aim to raise $200k target for 2026.

  2. From all accounts it sounded like an amazing night. Music, community, and raising awareness for such an important cause, that’s the kind of event people love to support.
