Jamolee Joseph Charged After Break-In at Antigua Fisheries

Police have arrested and charged a man from Perry Bay following a break-in at a business establishment in St. John’s earlier this week.

The Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda confirmed that Jamolee Joseph has been charged in connection with a burglary at Antigua Fisheries Limited on Market Street.

Investigators allege that sometime between March 3 and March 4, Joseph unlawfully entered the premises and stole a quantity of groceries and equipment valued at approximately EC$24,311.60.

During the course of the investigation, police recovered groceries and equipment valued at EC$3,910.22, which were identified as property belonging to Antigua Fisheries. As a result, Joseph was also charged with the offence of Receiving.

Authorities say investigations into the matter are ongoing, and Joseph is expected to appear before the court at a later date.

Police are meanwhile encouraging members of the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities. Anyone with information that could assist with this or any other investigation is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or the Crimestoppers anonymous hotline at 800-TIPS (8477).
