Minister Maria Browne oversees derelict car removal in St. John’s Rural East

A derelict vehicle removal exercise is now underway in the St. John’s Rural East constituency, marking the start of a broader effort to improve community spaces and road safety.

The MP for that constituency, Maria Bird Browne, confirmed that Day One of the initiative focused on clearing abandoned and unserviceable vehicles from key areas, to create cleaner surroundings, reduce environmental hazards, and enhancing traffic flow.

The exercise is part of ongoing efforts to address longstanding concerns about derelict vehicles that contribute to unsightly conditions and pose risks to public health and safety.

Organizers expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far, commending the team involved for their efficiency and dedication. Residents were also thanked for their patience and cooperation during the operation.

The clean-up initiative is expected to continue in the coming days as authorities work to further improve the overall environment within the constituency.
