Prime Minister Gaston Browne has pledged to bring a major housing redevelopment project to Grays Farm, mirroring the condominium-style transformation seen at Booby Alley in Point.

Browne committed Thursday evening while speaking at a campaign event in St John’s Rural West, where he joined supporters of Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) candidate Michael Joseph ahead of the April 30 general election.

Addressing residents, Browne outlined plans to reshape the area through land reclamation and infrastructure upgrades. He said Harbour Road would be relocated to the rear of newly reclaimed land, creating approximately 16 acres for a mix of commercial and residential development.

“We’ll move that Harbour Road, put it at the back of the reclaimed land, create 16 acres of land with both commercial and residential opportunities, and we’ll build nice condominium units for you,” Browne said.

The Prime Minister drew direct comparisons to the Booby Alley Housing Project, which replaced informal settlements with modern housing units in Point, describing the Grays Farm initiative as part of his government’s broader effort to improve living conditions across communities.

“What I do for Point, I will do for you,” he told residents, drawing applause from supporters.

The proposed development forms part of the ABLP’s campaign message centered on housing expansion, infrastructure upgrades, and community renewal as the country prepares for the upcoming polls.
