Nigeria’s Air Peace is set to ramp up Caribbean operations
Nigeria’s largest airline, Air Peace, is set to significantly expand its Caribbean operations, with new twice-monthly scheduled flights connecting Antigua and Barbados to Lagos beginning May 25, 2026 — deepening a relationship between the Nigerian carrier and the twin-island nation that has been years in the making.
According to the airline’s newly released schedule, flights will operate on the last two Mondays of each month. The routing sees passengers depart Antigua at 9:00am, arriving in Barbados at 10:20am, before the onward leg to Lagos departs at 11:50am, arriving at 2:20am the following day. The return journey from Lagos departs at 6:00am, arriving in Barbados at 10:10am, with the final leg to Antigua departing at 11:40am and touching down at 1:00pm. Bookings are available at flyairpeace.com.
The expanded schedule marks the latest chapter in Air Peace’s growing footprint in the Caribbean. Nigeria and West Africa’s largest airline, Air Peace currently serves over 20 domestic routes, 10 regional destinations, and multiple international routes, operating a modern fleet that includes Boeing 777s, Airbus A330s, and various Embraer aircraft.
Beyond passenger flights, Air Peace’s investment in the region goes further. Air Peace Caribbean acquired a 70% majority stake in LIAT 2020, the successor to the defunct regional carrier LIAT, with the Antiguan government retaining the remaining 30%. LIAT 2020 commenced operations in August 2024 with an inaugural flight to Castries, Saint Lucia.

This is a major step forward for Antigua and Barbuda and the wider Caribbean. Direct connections to West Africa open new doors for trade, tourism, education, and cultural exchange that we have been talking about for years.
Seeing Antigua and Barbuda included in international aviation expansion like this shows the country’s growing importance as a regional aviation hub.
