Health Minister Michael Joseph Personally Funds Gift Baskets for Nurses During Nurses Week Celebrations
Minister of Health, Wellness, Environment and Civil Service Affairs, Michael Joseph on Monday visited a number of public health clinics across Antigua to personally present nurses with gift baskets in recognition of Nurses Week 2026.
The initiative, which was funded by the minister himself, was described as a gesture of appreciation for the dedication, compassion, and sacrifices nurses continue to make in caring for the people of Antigua and Barbuda.
During the presentations, nurses attached to the Grays Farm Clinic, Villa Polyclinic, Cedar Grove Clinic, Judges Hill Clinic, Clare Hall Clinic, Pigotts Clinic, Parham Clinic, All Saints Clinic, Glanvilles Clinic, Potters Clinic, Bendals Clinic, and Brownes Avenue Clinic received gift baskets from the minister.

Joseph thanked the nation’s nurses for the vital role they play within the healthcare system, noting that their professionalism and commitment remain critical to the delivery of quality healthcare services throughout the country.
He also acknowledged the long hours and challenges nurses often face while continuing to provide care to patients and families across Antigua and Barbuda.

The minister indicated that the presentations will continue on Tuesday as efforts are made to ensure all 22 public clinics currently in operation receive the tokens of appreciation.
Joseph extended best wishes to nurses across the country for a meaningful and successful Nurses Week 2026 and commended them for their outstanding contribution to national healthcare and the many lives they continue to impact daily.
